2027 BMW X5 looks promising in renders based on spy shots

BMW is as busy as a bee and develops new and updated models. If Mercedes breathes down your neck, it is not easy to stay at the top of the luxury car segment. While the 3 Series remains Bavaria’s best -selling product, it is the SUVs that form the backbone of the installation in relation to the volume. It all started with the X5 “E53” in 1999 and a quarter of a century later is a fifth generation in development.

The outdated X5 was discovered by Car Paparazzi tests in Europe at the beginning of this month. We have now tried to imagine what BMW is hiding under all this camouflage. Our Rendering Borrows Cues from the VISION New class X concept, since BMW has confirmed that new class design elements are expanded across the entire area. In fact, the “G65” prototype seems to share some styling details with the upcoming smaller IX3 (“Na5”), which is supposed to debut in early September.

You might think we forgot to add door handles, but this is because you are no longer in your traditional positions. Instead, the next generation X5 uses small tabs on the belt line to open the doors. As can be seen on the vision of new class X, the base of the B and C pillars for the front and rear doors are located. While the concept will soon be transformed into the IX3 2026, the production model will instead have a flushing door handles.

Our exclusive rendering shows the M -performance variant X5 M60 with a quad exhaust, but without the “i” at the end of his name. This will be the flagship model at the start, which is powered by the familiar 4.4-liter V8 by Twin-Turbo. The engine is almost confirmed for North America, but its European future is uncertain due to the tightened emission regulations. The current X5 already has the S68 mild hybrid setup, so its successor will probably lead forward.

Could the new X5 look like a larger IX3? This is certainly the impression that the early prototypes give. Nevertheless, it is too early with all the camouflage to draw fixed conclusions. A prototype (See gallery below) was discovered as a plug-in hybrid with a front loading connection. For the first time, BMW is expected to offer a full electrical IX5.

In addition, the hydrogen model confirmed for production in 2028 should also be an X5. Since diesel engines are to be continued for the time being, BMW’s X5 area will have something for everyone. The only piece of the puzzle that we are currently missing is whether we will see another fat X5 M. When it comes, Logic suggests that it will arrive later in the product cycle.

The standard X5, which is available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid drive strands, is scheduled to enter into production in August 2026, or so we heard. We are confident that the spicy M performance model will start next to it. The purely electric IX5 with gene6 batteries and engines could debut at the same time and use the same internal “G65” cous name as it will drive on the same Clar platform.
