5 things we love on the 2025 BMW X3

We spend a week with the 2025 BMW X3, and there is a lot to do. It is the first year of the fourth generation of the type sign, which means big changes inside and outside. It also means that expectations are high; After all, there was not much bad what you could say about the previous generation, especially about the range-top and the extremely dynamic X3 M model. You say that change is good and we are happy that BMW has somehow found ways to improve. There is a lot to love about the brand new G45 X3-Selbst when it comes to the footsteps of the excellent G01 model that came before.

Confident and excellent drive train

At the moment, the G45 BMW X3 is only available with XDrive. But that’s okay; It is one of the most dynamic and pleasant all -wheel drive systems on the market. Although it would have been nice to test the faster X3 M50 XDRIVE model, we cannot say that we have complaints about the X3 30 XDrive. It is a joy to drive. The Turbo-charged four-pot (B48B20O2) assumes familiar 48-volt hybrid tech to deliver a total of 255 hp and 295 pound foot torque. There are some changes to the engine compared to the last B48 that we have seen under the hood – mainly revised intake connections and combustion chambers as well as new ignition and injection systems – but it feels solid than ever before.

A good engine is nothing without an equally competent transmission, and the X3 seems similar here. At this point, the ZF eight-speed automatic is anything but new and appears in everything, from vehicles from the BMW M series to RAM trucks and almost everything in between. And as always, BMW implemented it perfectly here. It is faster than in the last X3, and redesigned paddle sounds feel a little more sporty, while they still offer a familiar and satisfactory “click” on layers. If you continue to consider that this X3 does not have any m -sport delicacies, the chassis engineers from Magic BMW are still commendable. Bonus points for the simultaneous provision of excellent fuel consumption. The 17.2 gallon fuel tank is good for a damn damn close to 500 miles even in mixed driving conditions.

Screens are never my favorite function over a car, but when you consider that the brand stays in the direction of the larger curved screen, the 2025 BMW X3 does a solid job. After pairing my phone and restored with the various keys on the screen, Idrive 9 and Quickselect made navigation, media selection, switch-power modes and even stereo settings (a must, at least with the standard sound system) simple and quick. That means it will definitely take some time to learn whether you are not familiar with BMW. Even I needed a whole day by car to really feel comfortable to find everything. Older iDrive systems may have been more intuitive immediately.

Let us clear the bad news: the panoramic roof does not open at all. This was a disappointing find, but only after I had spent hours to enjoy hell from the natural light and openness that the panoramic roof roof offers. It is a new addition to the BMW X3 for 2025. In our tester it is bundled with the Premium package of 3400 US dollars. However, it is also available in the Convenience package of 1400 US dollars. We are there for this, even though it shyly recommends more buyers in the southwest and southern California. Despite the average temperatures in the northeast of the United States, where we tested the car, the sunny days quickly made it. Desolates may find overtime when they choose the glass roof. It can still be worthwhile – at least in winter.

The G45 X3 also marks the first time that BMW has offered the model with Veganza pads. It is a rather noticeable improvement compared to the last X3 that we drove with Sensatec and feel soft, but despite the standard offer. Although there is certainly no confusion for leather, it will be more than sufficient for less demanding buyers. In combination with the heated and ventilated seating functions, the sports seats stand for pretty much everything and do great work sporty, without affecting the ease of the inlet/removal.

The X3 has always been “fair” and that doesn’t change with the G45 X3. The specifications stated that the new 2025 BMW X3 has 67.1 cubic foot load room and all seats are reduced, which is five more cubic feet than the truck of last year. The passenger room feels more or less the same, and we had no complaints from our few (adult) rear seat riders. In view of the fact that the 2025 BMW X3 is larger than its predecessor, it should be a bit more spacious. Fortunately, that’s the case.

Overall, the G45 BMW X3 does a lot of good. Of course, no car is perfect and there is endless nits to choose – we will cover them separately. Take it? The X3 remains an excellent SUV for the prioritization of the dynamics of the drivers. And it still makes many other things well.
