A BMW We look forward to 2026: M2 XDrive

This story is only about things that are not secrets. On the one hand, it is no secret that we are big fans of the BMW G87 M2. Despite some interesting design decisions and perhaps less communicative steering than a perfect world, it is still an immense capable car that does what BMWS has always done best: bridges the gap between athletics and street excellence. Today’s performance cars are more impressive than ever. The M2 does not skip when it defeats the pit-to-head head. But there is still one thing that will make the car an even more versatile artist. Another “secret”, maybe only in the name. We can’t wait to drive the BMW M2 XDrive.

With the confirmation of the brand that it tests M2 prototypes with all-wheel drive, the basics already seems to have been laid. Finally, we have heard that the XDRIVE model will play 475 hp, which is either a conversion error or two horsepower more than the current RWD M2. The engine power was entered by a generally reliable insider Bimmer post. Although we have no torque numbers, we are ready to suspect BMW that the M2 XDRIVE does not achieve more than the M4 XDrive -Misstrive. So let’s assume an absolute maximum of £ 479 floors (650 Nm).

M2 XDrive will be much faster

The M2 XDRIVE is almost only offered only with the well-known eight-speed automatic transmission. This is annoying, but this enables the M2 XDrive some evil starts. Although the weight difference between M4 and M2 can be one minute, the latter is still easier. As a reference, the M4 competition XDRIVE leads the sprint from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.4 seconds. According to BMW, the current RWD M2 Coupé does it in 4.1 seconds. A 4-inch shorter wheelbase and almost 10 inch general length makes the M2 feel like a physical rocket. XDrive also pays dividends when walking is twisted. The additional handle probably enables “full send” in almost all circumstances. Maybe a better term would be idiotic.

In fact, the only disadvantage of the XDRive-equipped M2 is the additional weight. But exceptionally we will easily enter into BMW. The M2 is already a pretty heavy car; The additional weight (probably around 150 pounds) will probably not change the character of the car very much. Unless a high -performance *Hm* Management transmission, pretty please?) M2 CSL finally breaks the cover, the M2 XDrive could be the one who buys out of the line -up. Especially when BMW manages to work in some additional CS delicacies.

However, we can’t wait to get the M2 XDrive in the hands whenever it appears. Production should begin at some point in August 2026, whereby communication begins well before. The G87 production will only end in a total of 2029, so we have enough time to rip. I’m just waiting for you, BMW.
