Audi rejuvenates its image with a new design language, which is led by the beautiful, fully electrical concept C. A production version is due in 2027, but the EV list has already been grown by then. The BMW rival will already expand its zero emission offer with a new entry-level car next year. The disclosure is hidden in a press release about the brand’s new styling approach.
The four rings are not ready to share details, and only say that the more affordable EV in Ingolstadt will be produced at home. What we know is that it will indirectly replace two combustion models: A1 and Q2. The production of the Supermini and SubCompact crossover ends in 2026 when the entry-level EV is offered for the sale. In terms of body style, Audi will not say, although reports indicate that it will be positioned somewhere between a flow rear and an SUV.
Although not confirmed, the new entry point is expected to the Audi electrical portfolio with the Skoda Elroq. It would be more prone to the crossover page and make it a direct rival of the BMW IX1. While the Munich model shares its platform with the Hybrid X1 of petrol, diesel and plug-in, its ingol city opponent will use a dedicated EV platform (MEB).

British magazine Autocar Quotate CEO Gernot Döllner, who describes the upcoming EV as a “wonderful, unique, independent concept” in the same class as the 1-series rivaling A3. He indicated that the new EV could revive the “A2” camer, which was previously used for a quirky sloping rear for aluminum. The CEO added that “thinking” Audi could bring past monikers back for future models.
Regardless of which name it accepts, the entry-level EV will sit under the Q4 Etron in pricing. As a result, it will begin by less than the 46,150 -eud -Audi after the basic version in Germany. In the United States, the prices begin at 51,095 US dollars, although it is unclear whether the future model will be offered there. Reuters Reports that the company is aiming for two million annual sales in the long term and that greater availability of a more affordable EV would improve its chances. Last year, Audi sold 1.67 million cars compared to 2.2 million units from BMW worldwide.
Our sources claim that BMW plans to reach a size under the IX1 with the I1 later this decade. The I1 is expected in 2028 as a rear hookback with rear slanted swim with a class know-how. It is believed that the I1 is known internally as “NB0”. It should deliver at least 600 kilometers of WLTP from new battery technology with round cells. An equivalent limousine can follow in the same year as the I2 Gran Coupé “NB8”.
