BMW 540i XDrive returns to Canada with a new Legacy Edition

For the first time in the G60 life cycle, Canada’s BMW 5 Series with a pure inline-six engine is available. The luxury sedan is now offered in a 540i XDRIVE variant that skipped the PHEV treatment. In addition to a 540i from the glorious days of the E34, the new taste is not a permanent addition to the line -up. Instead, it is a special edition that is limited to only 151 cars.

In order to make your hard earned money worth, BMW Canada sweetens the deal with a standard M-sport-pro package. The 540i XDrive is also delivered with an individual manufacturer painting, including this Blue II-Metallic with a retro taste. Other paint options listed on the company’s website are frozen black, Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic, Oxford Green Metallic, Interlagos Blue Metallic, Black Blue non-metallic, sepang bronze metallic and cinabar red non-metallic.

The Luxobarge-Bayern-Bayern rides on 21-inch individual wheels, paired with red or dark blue M-sports brake cheeters. In addition, the Legacy Edition is generously equipped with ventilated front seats and an 18-spokesman surround system from Bowers & Wilkins. But its most important estate is below the bonnet, where the B58 engine calls home.

The inline-Six turbuladed plug-in-hybrid-tech handles and delivers 375 hp and 398 LB-FT (540 Nm) torque. However, we should point out that the nominal output takes into account the 48-Volt-Mild hybrid setup. Yes, there is still a little electrification. BMW supports all four bikes over an eight-speed automatic transmission, so that a sprint from 0 to 62 km/h in 4.7 seconds is in 4.7 seconds.

BMW does not mention the pricing, but expects to pay a six -figure sum. Why? A 530i XDrive with the M Sport Pro package, 21-inch wheels and frozen black color already costs 91,591 CAD. Do you see the glass switchgear? It is a 900 CAD option for the four-cylinder model. We can say the same thing about the Red M Sport brakes with 500 CAD. Even with all extras, the Legacy edition should consider the M5 sedan, which begins at 152,429 CAD in Canada.

BMW Canada is already coming up and will begin shipping cars in the fourth quarter of the year.
