Early at the beginning of the year, BMWblog spoke to Adrian van Hoydonk about the brand’s uniform styling approach. The head of the BMW Group informed us at CES that future incineration and electric cars will look almost identical. Well, at least until they are very close and compare them next to each other: “I think they will be tough [from a distance] To say which the electrical and which combustion engine is. It will be so close. “

This strategy extends to the next generation M3 (G84) and the purely electric counterpart, the ZA0. In an interview with Top Gear The magazine Mike Reichelt, the man who was responsible for the new class program, confirmed that both aromas of the sports sedan are cut from the same cloth. He claims that the M3S will share “the same design and the same digital functions”.

We have already seen spy shots of the electrical M3 with its production authority, while the inline-six model remains under closure. Auto-Paparazzi, however, recorded the next generation Limousine 3 Series (G50) as a M-performance model. The adjacent spy images make it easy to recognize the similarities between the M3 EV and the M340I reversal M350. When we spoke to Van Hooydonk, he mentioned that the electrical versions had shorter noses, but anything else would be the same.

The two sides of the M3 can share more than just their design and the minimalist interior with the new iDrive. The G84 and ZA0 could even sound similar, since the latter will have an artificial inline-six soundtrack. As for reality, the upcoming gas model according to Reichelt will use a “new six -cylinder engine”. We believe that he referred to a mild hybrid version of the S58 drive train.

BMW has not announced when the cars will be debut, but we have a good authority that the ZA0 will arrive first, possibly as early as 2027. The petrol counter is to enter production in July 2028. Like the EV, the combustion engine model can be offered with an automatic transmission. It is unclear whether M wants to offer both the rear and all-wheel drive versions of the electric M3, but we have heard that the ice model could only go XDrive.
