BMW IX3 Rival Mercedes GLC EV receives a massive screen

On the same day, BMW reveals the new IX3, its archnesis Mercedes presents a direct rival. The new model is no longer called EQC. He goes with the GLC with EQ Technology moniker and offers a completely different interior. If you are not a fan of screens, you have to search elsewhere, because this electric frequency crossover is just about you. Actually, it’s just a huge screen.

BMW itself littered its infotainment with iDrive X and a 17.9-inch screen. However, it fades compared to the massive 39.1-inch displays that Mercedes gave the GLC with EQ technology. This single panel extends almost the entire width of the dashboard. Previously used models from Stuttgart either two or three separate displays, but now they were all merged into one.

Mercedes calls it the latest development of its hyper screen with the Matrix Backlight technology with more than 1,000 individual LEDs. A party trick is the option of adjusting two sections via built -in sliders at the same time. Not all versions of the EV will get this interior, however, since only the more expensive equipment will look like. The huge screen is optional, so that cheaper models probably have smaller, separate displays.

Suddenly the 2026 IX3 setup does not look as overwhelming as that of the GLC, right? Compared to Mercedes, BMW follows a different approach with the first NEE class model. The middle screen and panorama view projection, which is located on the base of the windshield, are in the entire line -up. However, buyers have to pay additional ones for the 3D head-up display.

The two electrical SUVs will compete worldwide, including in the USA, where the old IX3 and the EQC were never sold. Both will share the limelight next week at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich. Similar to BMW, the finishing touches of an i3 sedan prepares, Mercedes prepares a C-Class-ER. Proof that the German luxury battle in the electrical segment heats itself.
