BMW M Chef Hypet The new M2 CS in the Walkaround video

The M2 -CS increases the G87 formula, but lack the most important features such as a manual and a carbon hood. BMW also left the yellow tamer lights and the carbon splinter. Nevertheless, there is still a lot to like on this car. In a video in the Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este, the mayor of M Town takes us on a tour of the latest competitive sports model.

Frank van Meel focused on the M2 -CS in individual velvet blue, although an M2 -CS example was parked right next to it. Both have golden bronze wheels with a matt finish and a double spoke design. It is the only set for this car and receives a staggered configuration. On the front there are 19-inch wheels with 275/35 ZR19 tires and 20-inch wheels with 285/30 ZR20-rubber. The forged M-wheels can be combined with additional costs with optional carbon ceramic brakes.

Since this is not a full CSL model, the CS only sheds about 30 kilograms compared to the standard M2. The contribution to weight loss is a new trunk lid with a ducktail spoiler and a carbon reinforced (CFRP) diffuser. As expected, the roof and side mirrors in carbon are by default. The same applies to the front bucket seats. An M2 -CSL remains an option, and if it happens, it will probably reduce more weight by removing the rear seats, just like its big brother, the M4 CSL.

The video that was shot on the bank of the Como lake in Italy also shows Oliver Heilmer. Before that, the head of the mini design is now monitored the design of compact and medium-sized BMWs, including M models. He points to the newly designed, more aggressive front -time rod with new aerial photographs. These components are apparently so thin that a diagonal bar had to be added to strengthen the square intake.

The M2 CS duo was exhibited alongside an M4 CS couple, including the regular version and the limited Valentino Rossi Special Edition. However, our selection of the list is definitely the M3 -CS tour in British Racing Green. What’s next? It is highly unlikely that the M4 convertible will receive the CS treatment, since it is more of a GT car. Our money is on an M5 -CS both in the limousine and in the wagon body style. However, Logic tells us that it will not happen before the facelifting that is planned for mid -2027.

In the meantime, we believe that BMW is still developing the M2, possibly for an XDRIVE derivative that could arrive next year.
