Another M3 tour is needed to beat the G81 in the Nürburgring. With a lap time of 7 minutes and 35 seconds, the regular model was already the fastest production car in the green hell. It has now been dethroned by the CS, which is the first property around the Nordschleife, which destroys the barrier of 7:30. BMW is pleased to complete its first CS-Baded car in 7: 29.49 a round of the German route.
The development engineer Jörg Weidinger got behind the wheel of the M3 CS tour to see if he could improve the old performance. He did that. The hotter car from Bavaria shaved 5.57 seconds from the lap time of the standard -G81 about the longer configuration of the Nürburgring. It extends over 20.8 kilometers and contains more than 70 corners. The following is an onboard video that shows the record attempt with a record attempt.
According to the BMW, the hot round was reached in April, about three months after the official debut of the car. The long-term M3-CS is almost as fast as the siblings of the sedan. The M3 CS G80 completed the lap in 7: 28.7 in 2023, also with Weideler behind the steering wheel. The two body styles differ only by about eight tenths of seconds, although the touring has a little more weight.

The M3 CS Touring follows another record breaking M-car. The same Jörg Weidinger recently drove the M2 CS to a 7: 25.5 round to grab the compact car crown from the Audi RS3. However, the M4 CS remains the fastest of the CS cars with a lap time of 7: 21.9. It is the second fastest production BMW in the Nordschleife, which only the hardcore M4 CSL and its impressive 7: 18.1 round time.
Sooner or later, BMW will probably try the M5 models. Assuming that the CS derivatives of the limousine and the car are in the pipeline, you will probably be based on the mid-cycle facelifting planned for 2027. The M division could also return with the M2, provided the M2-CSL takes place.
