EV life is better than ever

Life with an EV is not what it used to be. And after a week in the latest electrical offers of Porsche-Des new Macan Turbo EV and the second generation Taycan 4S Cross Turismo-Bin, I was more optimistic than ever when the turning point has arrived. No hypermiling, no app juggling chargers, only proper driving in the right cars. Both delivered their promise of over 300 miles, even if they are driven as if they were burned. In fact, I hardly thought about reach.

The Macan and Taycan collected from Porsche GB with full batteries showed range of 300 miles. In reality, this number was remarkably precise. My driving style did not change: air conditioning to full explosion, cooled seats in the Macan and every PS that is used as intended. I have not pre -conditioned the batteries and did not transmit them for chargers. I just drove.

The Macan, which became massive wheels in a breathtaking copper -rubin -Rubin -Metallic, which looked spectacular, but gives the journey a somewhat brittle border, felt the Porsche -SUV, which he claims. The control weights were perfect, the seating position. Despite its 2.6-ton fair, the Macan Turbo EV moved with conviction thanks to its 630 hp twin engine setup and the demanding chassis. On the way to Silverstone I stopped at a Porsche dealer to calculate, but spent more time to take photos than to wait for the proportion of the battery. Later, a 400 kW supermarket charger delivered 32 kWh in eight minutes and jumped from 15% to 51%, with the cabin in 35-degree heat, massage seats and everything cooled down.

The Taycan 4S Cross Turismo offered a different taste: a more dynamic seating position, less in cabinet technology and a slightly softer journey. Cooled seats were missing, which I missed very much during the heat wave in London, but his drive train remained characteristic. On my 50-mile pendulum traffic, a five-minute charge was more than sufficient for a fast charger. Even without home in London, I have not experienced any worry or inconvenience.

Both cars also showed Porsche Active Ride, a new suspension system that changes the experience behind the steering wheel quietly. With the help of high-speed-hydraulic actuators at every corner, the system actively manages the body movement and keeps both Taycan and Macan amazing and composed-even during the hard curve or over poor surfaces. It improves comfort, sharpens the dynamics and contributes to dressing up the weight of the cars. It is a game changer, especially for an SUV.

That is the real revelation. Thanks to battery and infrastructure promotion, these electric vehicles finally offer the lightness and trust of ice wagon. The second generation Taycan uses a new 105 kWh battery with improved cell chemistry, and the 800 V-PSA architecture of the Macan enables it to charge in just 21 minutes from 10 to 80% under ideal conditions.

But not everything is perfect. At over 100,000 pounds that have been tested, the inner materials in both cars do not quite fulfill the expectations. Some touchpoints felt plastic and not with the badge on the bonnet. As with many electric vehicles, both the Taycan and the Macan are difficult questions about depreciation and long -term desirability.

Nevertheless, there is no Porsche ness. From the way they control themselves in corners, these are real products from Weissach. That the Macan, who is now deep in its second generation and 1 million units, has developed into something so advanced and still recognizable. With these cars, Porsche proves that the future can be electrical with a compromise. Thanks to the active journey, you could better handle better than ever before.
