With the risk of sounding like a broken record, I still find it frustrating that BMW bundle bundle when he publishes global sales results. The 1 series and the 2 series are always summarized, similar to the X1 and X2. It is the same story with the larger model pairs. The company offers breakdown for individual vehicles in North America, but not at a global level.
When the results of the half -year were received, we noticed a significant jump for the 5 and 6 Series with combined deliveries by 32.3% to 151,046 units. It is no surprise that the often misunderstood 6 -series Gran Turismo pulled the result down. In a declaration of BMW boss Oliver Zipse published today, we learn that the 5 Series rose by more than 40% compared to H1 2024 in the first six months of the year alone.
You could be surprised that the quirky fifth -door buoyancy in some markets was still offered for sale while H1 2024. BMW dropped the G32 in India later this year to release space in the Chennai plant for the Langwaden 5 series.
Even in July 2025, the 6 Series GT does not seem to be completely dead. You can still configure it on the company’s website in Malaysia. BMW builds the extremely practical car locally in the Kulim plant from Complete Knock-Down (CKD) kits. In contrast, production in the Dingolfing factory in Germany ended in 2023.

The M5 models undoubtedly contribute to this. Once again, BMW does not indicate how many of the 5 -person sales were regular variants and how many M5S were. However, the M division achieved its best half-year results of all time that were driven by the strong demand for G90 and G99. Incidentally, BMW currently splits the production evenly between the two M5 body styles.
All versions of the 5 Series will experience life cycle impulse in the second half of 2027. Expect large changes in interiors, with iDrive X revised the dashboard by introducing a large central touchscreen. The panoramic view will also debut and project three solid tiles in the driver’s line of sight and six adaptable widgets on the right of the windshield. And yes, the iDrive rotary controller goes away.
The BMW CEO is glad that the demand for X2 until June has more than doubled. On the other hand, this is not so surprising. The U10 was not widespread worldwide in the first half of 2024, so it is not a fair comparison of the year.
