We saw how the M3 CS toured the Goodwood FOS, where BMW presented the car in a frozen solid white. However, we believe that the most suitable color for the Hardcore G81 in Great Britain is British -Racing Green. New press images show one of the most versatile models in the Bayern constellation, probably in its best specification so far.
While the bikes of the M3 CS Touring are available with a matt black finish, we choose these matt golden bronze lines instead. They offer a striking contrast to the historical green color and reflect the yellow day running lights, which are exclusively for the competition edition. It looks like it is difficult to find a more desirable car in the extensive line -up of BMW. Perhaps a manual transmission and a carbon roof are missing, but it ticks any other box and has space for everyone in its cavernous freight area.
Do not expect the M3 CS to tour often on public roads. In addition to the steep price, production is not limited by units, but to time. BMW will only build the power car in the context of a “limited run” for about 12 months, whereby the total output does not exceed 2,000 units.

Some may see the M5 tour as a natural upgrade, others would differ. The smaller over-wagon skipped hybrid technology in favor of a pure petrol experience. It also offers something that BMW Wagon fans appreciate what the G99 does not offer: the possibility of opening the rear glass separately from the rear flap. It also offers none of the 5 series touring (G61) variants. Why? Apparently it is not a cost cut, but a decision by the design team.
The regular M3 tour continues after the CS version has broken out in 2026. BMW will supposedly build the last G81 in the second half of 2027, possibly around October. As for the next thing, the rumored 3er touring (G51) faces an uncertain future. As a result, another long roof M3 with a gas engine is not guaranteed. However, BMW pointed out a full electrical i3 tour. And with an M3 EV limousine (“ZA0”), an officially confirmed, a more practical body style is followed.
