China was the first market to celebrate half a century since E21’s debut. BMW used the four -cylinder 330i and Electric i3 as the basis for the limited model. For Australia and New Zealand, the luxury brand opted for an exciting taste for the 50 years of the original 3 series.
The 3 Series 50 Years of Edition begins as a sharp M performance model. In particular, an M340i in the limousine style with standard -xDrive. Only 50 units are sold to the ranking, all in an individual BMW color. To be honest, it is not particularly exciting because we believe that a special version would have earned a more bold finish. The six-cylinder sports sedan is available in anthracite metallic and comprises the M Sport package Pro. The latter bundle red brake calipers with dark shadow lines -outer accents, including a black sapphire rear spoiler. The 19-inch wheels are finished in Jet Black and rounded off shady treatment.
There is not much to report, but BMW adds a touch of exclusivity with a special badge. A metallic badge “3 Series 50 Years of Edition” with a colored M motif adorns the Center Console lid. Carbon fiber dashboard trim and seat belts with a M-topic are also included in the package. However, you can also find these functions in a regular M340i.

BMW Australia calculates 127,600 AUD, which currently corresponds to around $ 83,400. Although it is a fair comparison in the conversion rates, different taxes and so on, an M340i XDrive begins in the USA at $ 63,375. Nevertheless, it could be worse because the German pricing begins at € 76,600 (almost 90,000 US dollars).
The G20 3 Series is now in the last phase of your life cycle. BMW is scheduled to end production in October 2026, with the G50 successor possibly arriving in the following month. However, the new model will not be built in Munich, since the historical work will only move to EVS from 2027. Instead, the next generation of 3 of the next generation is expected to be assembled in Dingolfing. Production is probably also distributed via other locations, similar to the current car. As a reference, the G20 is manufactured in Mexico (San Luis Potosí), India (Chennai), Brazil (Araquari), China (Shenyang) and in other plants.
