They say that the weight of the enemy is the performance, but engineers can partially compensate for the additional mass by calling up the power supply. Additional muscles certainly help in a straight line, especially if an immediate torque of an electric motor is involved. When the weight difference becomes significant, it raises the question of whether it is worth the compromise.
The M5-CS is still the most powerful BMW, which was exposed to all time in a drag race for the G90. The event, which was organized by Mercedes-Benz Downtown Calgary, also contained an AMG’s answer to BMWS Bruiser: The GT63 S E-Performance, another plug-in-hybrid V8 power package.
The M5 CS has “only” 635 hp and 553 LB-FT, but it is the lightest of the trio with £ 4,114. Its electrified successor is armed with a massive performance of 717 hp and a monstrous torque of 738 LB-FT, although it bumps around 5,390 pounds. In the meantime, the AMG is the most powerful and has an amazing performance of 831 hp and an earth moment with an earth movement 1,067 LB-FT with a slightly trimmer brick weight of £ 5th.
While the main draw is to see how the M5S stack is stacked, the AMG candidate also deserves attention. Despite its extraction, it is a straight rocket. We should note that the days of the GT63 S E-performance are numbered because it is replaced by a purely electric sedan. If we know that, we should not be so hard on BMW that we have transformed the M5 into a plug-in hybrid. At least it still has a V8 under the bonnet.
