BMW from North America has published a voluntary security recall for a small amount of its models 2025 X3 XDrive30 after the front brake discs discovered potential damage. The recall only affects 26 vehicles, all of which were manufactured on February 19, 2025, and comes from damage that is likely to be sought during the transport process of the supply chain.
According to documents, which were submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the front brake discs on these vehicles can have “heavy markings or cuts on the windscreen surface”. This damage, warns BMW, could impair the braking performance and increase the risk of a crash if they are not accused of.

The problem was initially launched on February 20, 2025 when the BMW staff carried out a routine quality inspection, how acoustic anomaly in the brake system of a newly installed X3 found an acoustic anomaly. Suppose a similar report by a BMW dealer led to a deeper examination on March 24th. BMW worked with its supplier ZF Foxconn -Chassis modules and pursued the basic cause of physical damage that occurs during transport -and as every production error.
Although BMW has received no reports on accidents or injuries in connection with this problem, the company acts from a wealth of caution. The recall campaign will replace both the front brake discs and the brake pads for affected vehicles free of charge. The replacement components are listed under parts number 8831512-01.
Owners whose vehicles were already inspected or repaired for this problem as part of the BMW New Vehicle Limited guarantee for this problem have not been entitled to reimbursement, since the appeal would have been covered by the guarantee at the time of service.
