BMW shows the brand new IX3 in hot weather tests

We cannot remember if there was so much hype about a new BMW, let alone an SUV. But the IX3 is not just a member of the X line -up. It is the beginning of a fresh design language for gas and electric cars. In addition, the second generation IX3 will initiate the gene6 batteries and engines of the BMW group. Inside, Idrive X focuses on the focus.

Before the new IX3 Breaks cover later this year, BMW strives to show prototypes during the hot weather test. The camouflaged crossover with the production authority had to endure extreme conditions in South Africa. Since the premiere is only a few months away, the test vehicle seems to be ready to fall the cladding and show its last look.

The headlights and toughnesses spy through the camouflage and show design features of the vision of new class X. internally known from its NA5 code name and should be a little longer and wider than the outgoing model. It is said to have a lower roof and a small wheelbase. There is space for a front case under the bonnet. It is not only speculation from our part, since spy photos of a prototype showed a front freight compartment.

BMW has promised that the overall efficiency will increase by 20% compared to the Clar-based IX3 “G08”. Most of the improvements are from the revised hardware that we mentioned earlier. However, the new design language will also play an important role. The implementation of flush door handles – seen here – undoubtedly helps with the air flow.

By not having to share the platform with the X3 “G45”, the engineers do not compromise with the IX3. The new model was developed as EV from the first day. So look for much better packaging, even though you have a similar footprint. You will make fewer stops at a charging station, since all NK cars in the WLTP cycle have at least 600 kilometers (373 miles). The IX3 becomes the Range King by exceeding the 701 kilometers (436 miles) of the new IX.

The IX3 will open the locks for many NEE class models. At least eight EVs will be available by 2028, including an i3 sedan next year. In addition, models should contain an i3 tour and an IX4.
