BMW spreads the low 1 series 118 with M sports package

Although the new 1 series still has no plug-in hybrid and electrical versions, the list is reasonably diverse. We are all familiar with the M135, but this prioritization efficiency will take a look at the 118D or 120D diesel engines. If you prefer gasoline without paying the M power bonus, BMW offers the 123 XDrive. There are some three-cylinder options below the range: the 116 and the 120.

In certain markets, the 1 series F70 is also available than this, the 118. It drops the traditional “I” suffix like the other models operated with gasoline. We have still got used to this change, and frankly, the “118” badge on the tailgate feels like it is missing. For decades BMWS with petrol engines that end in “I” have conditioned us, but these days gradually end. In the future, only the EVS of the company will bear the “i” marking.

The base 118 has arrived in South Africa, where it is depicted with the M sports package. The three-cylinder compact slant from BMW includes some remarkable upgrades, including a thundering metallic paint that was famous for the Z4 M40i. It retains the 18-inch wheels that are by default with the M Sportpacket, although buyers can choose a larger 19-inch set.

Inside, BMW South Africa emphasized the 1-series Right-Handraft 1 with perforated veganza artificial leather in mocha. The m sports package is continued inside with three -colored seams on the dashboard, an allusion to the characteristic colors of BMW M. There is even an M logo in the cluster for digital instrument, although this is not the M135, let alone a real M car.

The 118 is far from everything that is removed from the “most powerful letter in the world”. Its 1.5-liter petrol engine turbuelades is only 154 hp. For even less electricity, the 116 variant offered in Europe only delivers 121 hp. The cheapest 1-series variants of the previous F40 generation were previously equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. However, BMW only sells the latest iteration with a seven-speed automatic transmission with two couplings.
