BMW sees success on the EV and gas drive market today. Much of it depends on a strategy that prioritizes ice, electrical and hybrid drive strands equally. In exclusive conversations with Bernd Koerber, Senior Vice President BMW brand and product management, we learned that a branch of the BMW portfolio may be particularly suitable for becoming fully electrical. It is probably no coincidence that it is one of the segments that would be little of the US electrification, if at all. We asked -hypothetically -how BMW could continue the Touring model in an age of increased electrification.
All electric could make sense for BMW’s cars

As BMW continues to produce, an even undecided matter seems to be. “It depends on many circumstances,” begins Koeber, “because the Touring market in Europe is a lot of company model for company fleets.” He says that if you look at the current political direction in Europe, the transition of your fleet -oriented body style to all EV could be useful. “If you look at the roadmap of Europe, take a look at the guidelines of large fleets in Europe, company car fleets, etc.. We interpret that in reality incentives and, as Koeber” Framework “, actually enormous deterministic factors are or when touring models are too electrical. We already see this with the first BMW i5 tour.

Koeber also emphasizes an interesting difference between the wishes of companies and private customers. “Tours that customers want is maybe even more ice cream, even diesel because long stretches,” he says. Of course, there is nothing to say that BMW gives up its flexible approach to ice and hybrid. Koeber quickly assures us that BMW “flexible” is “flexible” with frame and customer questioning fluctuations. “We have certain plans, but let’s take a look at how the framework develops.” This is about as committed as Koeber when it comes to revealing what could wait for the Tour models.
BMW currently makes 3 series and 5 -series variants. Only the latter has the option of a fully electrified drive train, although both offer full BMW -M variants. The M5 touring recently marked the return of BMW to the car area in the USA. Whether even more tower models will follow or not, still has to determine, but the view is good. Especially for “extreme touring models” like the M3 and M5 touring. Unfortunately, BMW no longer offers a hybrid -3 series in the USA, but you can get a PHEV or gas truck in Europe.
BMW i3 Touring rumored for 2027

Rumors about the BMW Touring Strategy have been swirling for some time. One of the most ongoing reports suggests that BMW is preparing to rewrite the i3 story with a brand new cars of cars that arrives after 2025. An i3 limousine based in class in class in class was confirmed by BMW for 2026 a year later. The car would fully exploit the sixth generation of the sixth generation of the sixth generation of BMW, which thanks to the introduction of round cells would achieve at least 30 percent profits both in the area and in the loading speed.
However, it is important to note that the BMW i3 touring was not confirmed by Bernd Koerber or other others at BMW. At the moment it remains speculations in the industry and not in the official instruction of the company.
