Days ago, BMW announced plans to organize the VDX’s public debut at Auto Shanghai 2025. At this point we wondered whether the vision’s driving experience would still be draped into camouflage. Good news: We have now learned that the radical concept car goes to China without the cladding.
New teaser pictures show the Bonkers test vehicle without make -up. Since the premiere will only take place next week, BMW is not ready to show the VDX properly. Photos show the most powerful car that the company has ever built when it travels to the big event in Shanghai, which takes place from April 23 to May 2.
Imagine the VDX as an interpretation of the new class vision, the slim concept of 2023, which the i3 limousine teased next year. BMW has confirmed the production of a fully electrical M3, but it will not arrive until 2028. And if it ends up, it won’t be nearly as extreme as this animal, not in styling, aero or performance.
The VDX allegedly offers a monstrous 1,700 hp from a quad engine setup. This places the rumored power of the electric M3 in the shade, which is expected to deliver less than 700 hp. Mind you, that is still a remarkable jump from the 543 hp of the M3 CS. The upcoming EV M3, the code name “ZA0”, will probably debut “Just” with dual engines. If you are not ready to separate from the gas force, the internal combustion of M3 of the next generation “G84” retains its 3.0-liter twin turbo-six-six.
To be honest, we are happy to finally take a real view of the VDX and whatever the M -Zweig prepares for its first real electrical performance car. Sure, we have M Performance EVS, such as the i4 M50 and IX M70, but a full-grown M-car without attacks? This is a first one.
The VDX may be a unique, but it is a brave signal for what will come. With the new class architecture, which underpins a wave of new electrical models, it only takes a matter of time before M becomes electrical to a large extent. And we are here. A limousine will be a prerequisite, although we hear that the IX3 also receives the M treatment. Logic tells us that new class the locks for Electric Ms.
