The annual turnover of BMW M has increased by 13TH Serivating years that reached 206,582 units in 2024. The quick growth was powered by the spread of M power cars, which are controversial with the complete M models. After the M5 and M5 are now on the road, the outlook for 2025 looks solid. In order to accelerate the leap of the popularity of the “most powerful letter in the world”, the portfolio is expanded by an unknown model.
The 2025 Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este will be the venue for the official debut of a new M car. BMW does not mention the product and only says that it will be a “world premiere”. If you look at the huge lineup of the company, the only candidate that comes to mind is the M2 CS. We have already seen the M3 -CS tour this year, and it is far too early for the M5 to get competitive sports treatment.
Elsewhere in the line -up, we exclude real M derivatives of the compact models. Do not expect BMW to cross the M35 taste, since the company from the base of Front Wheel-Base Ms. X3 is excluded with the M50 already available, while an X3 M40D successor is not planned. We also exclude the larger SUVs because they already have M -Performance and M -aromas. Dance shots have shown that the 7 -series series is due for a life cycle impulse, so that the timing is not right.
BMW does not indicate whether it intends to show an M performance model or a real M, whatever the case, the portfolio is almost complete, apart from the M2 -CS mentioned above. The alleged M2 XDrive will not be due until next year, so we do not think about it.
What if it is something else? The 8 Series is a proper transmitter based on the M8, but this ship is probably already sailed. BMW removed the F92 from the US configurator a few months ago, although the convertible and Gran Coupé is still nearby.
We would certainly not mind seeing a follow-up to the M550i, but it is unlikely. Even if there is an M Performance 5 with a gas engine on the agenda, it will probably arrive with the 5 Series Facelifting. If this is the case, it may be the long-term M560e plug-in hybrid with an inline-six and not an evil V8.
It would make sense that the Z4 has a swan song before the G29 dies next year. However, the six-speed manual version introduced last year could be the de facto final for the roadster.
We still didn’t forget this mysterious Electric CoupĂ© prototype, which was discovered almost a year ago, and hidden new class design cues. It is unclear whether BMW intends to correctly present this car one day. Even if this day comes, the high ride EV is probably a concept. The debut in the next month will be a production model.
Next month we will have an answer to BMW’s puzzles in the Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este (23 to 25 May). A new unique car is also presented on the banks of the Como lake in Italy.
