The 2025 Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este is just around the corner and you know what that means. Yes, BMW is bringing another unique car to Lake Como this year to follow the 2024 Skytop and the Touring Coupé. In general, these unique projects have remained unique, but Skytop is a pleasant exception. The Z40i-Base shooting brake brake from 2023 also got almost green light.
Of course, BMW is not yet ready to reveal the identity of the car. However, it is said that it is an “elegantly sporty classification that should enjoy for two tones”. It could also be a convertible, but common sense says that we should exclude another project based on the Cabriolo Z4 or 8 Series, so that only the 4 Series as a potential candidate around convertible remains convertible.
It remains to be seen whether the secret has something to do with the plans of BMW to celebrate half a century of the 3 series. An E21 homage would be perfectly marked for 50 years since the beginning of the 3 series. However, all seven generations of the 3 Series are presented at the event. Sandro Chias 1992 M3 GTR (E36) will be there as a integration with the 50th anniversary of Kuntautos.
We should point out that the one-time round will rather wear the famous round than Rolls-Royce’s spirit of the ecstasy or the mini logo. BMW’s success with special coachbuilt projects such as the 3.0 CSL and Skytop could encourage the German luxury brand to build more limited cars.
