The BMW Welt reopened its doors a few days ago after a five -week break for renovation work. One of the first autocanduvers included a model that was exposed to retirement. The X4 M and the regular X4 will be of the end of the year. Before the German luxury brand has the crossover coupe-mashup sunsets, you can still order one offices, but the time expires.
This is not an ordinary “G02” because the customer weakened in an individual color on the “F98” high performance. Anglesey Green Metallic fits the X4 M, while the Sakhir Orange/Black Interior provides a contrasting effect. In the niche of CrossOvers, which were beaten with the coupé stick, the X4 is one of the better looking models, especially if it has such a special configuration.
But the X4 is not long for this world. BMW has already announced that a direct successor is not planned. The company believes that since the X2 has gone through a growth thrust that no more X4 needs. However, we have a good authority that a full electric IX4 is on the NEE class platform. According to reports, the “Na7” is bearing and could debut next year or in 2027. A high-fat M version is probably in the pipeline as a “ZA7”.
There is no X4 of the third generation with burning engines. Now it is time to pick up one if you want gasoline/diesel power. Since BMW has already ruled out that another X3 m has been carried out, the X4 m remains the only full -fledged M -crossover in the segment. As soon as it is gone, the X3 M50 will be the range topping version. There is also a six-cylinder diesel, but it is not marked as a M performance model because it does not replace the old X3 M40D. Instead, it is called X3 40D XDrive.
Will people miss the X4 as soon as he is gone? To be honest, it seems unlikely. It has always been a niche model since the “F26” was launched in 2014. The X4 is one of several BMWs that are retired. The Z4 and 8 series will be discontinued in 2026 without a replacement. The recently revised IX will also die later this decade, but its place in the line -up is taken by an IX5.
