The X4, as we know, is probably only months, if not weeks, away from retirement. BMW has already confirmed that a direct replacement is not planned. Why? It believes that the second generation enlarged X2 can indirectly take on its role in the line -up despite its platform on site. Nevertheless, Munich never sleeps and the return of the X4 badge is more of a question when. A new report suggests that a full electrical model will arrive at the end of next year.
We have been discussing the prospects of an IX4 for about three years and even share the internal code name: “Na7”. In November 2026, the Coupé SUV is scheduled to enter into production in the new BMW Debrecen plant. The Hungarian factory will soon be opened, whereby the series production of the IX3 (“Na5”) begins at the end of the next month.
According to a BMW insider, the juicy details for the publication of the Bimmer Post Forums, an M Performance IX4 will follow shortly. The M Lite is scheduled to enter production in March 2027. In addition, a full -fledged X4 M (“ZA7”) can arrive later to complete the line -up. Downwards, the IX4 is expected to reflect the IX3, which has so far only been announced in 50 XDRIVE, 40 XDRIVE and 40 SDRIVE aromas. Interestingly, we hear that an M sports package in the entire area will be standard.

We are excited to see whether the IX4 will have an even slimmer, more aerodynamic body than the IX3. The latter has an air resistance coefficient of 0.24, but a more racial roof line could further reduce this number. In this case, the maximum WLTP range can surpass the 805 kilometers (500 miles) of IX3 50 XDrive. It is a well-founded assumption that, given the fact that Audi’s Electric Coupé Suvs are a little more efficient than the donor cars.
As with BMW’s other sports activities coupes (SAC) from BMW, the IX4 will accommodate a higher price than the equivalent IX3. It will also be a little less practical, with the sloping roof line cut into the rear headroom and in the cargo space. Can’t have all of them. Nevertheless, the clever packaging of the committed new class platform should make it impressive, especially compared to the outgoing X4 “G02”.
While the conventionally shaped IX3 is also built in Mexico in the San Luis Potosí plant, the coupé-inspired siblings seem to be compiled exclusively in Central Europe. With the IX3 confirmed for the US market, there is a good reason to assume that the IX4 will also deliver the way to the state.
Before the IX4 arrives, the second NEE class model will be the debut of the i3 “Na0”, which is aimed at Loyalists of Limousins.
