Do you remember the Rötesiepen Zagato? Andreas and Florian Bovensiepen, sons of the Alpina founder Burkard Bovensiepen, went their own way. As the name suggests, your debut vehicle is a collaboration with the Milan Design House Zagato. That may be obvious when you look at it. It can be obvious or not that it is a G83 M4. It is still less obvious that all this pretty body takes place completely in light carbon fiber. However, this changes with the introduction of a new carbon package of the company.
The carbon fiber kit of Bovensiepen Zagato
If we look through the pictures, we can see that Bovensiepen has taken care not to overdo it. There is only a handful of carbon fiber additives. A winding front splitter hangs low as it protrudes from the front bumper. On the side, a skirt of the carbon side extends to the floor and adds a certain aggressiveness. Finally, a carbon fiber diffuser breaks the rear end a little. According to Bovensiepen, the Carbon package is a “demonstration of the extraordinary craftsmanship of Bovensiepen Zagato and an impressive accentuation of its sporty design”. Perhaps more interesting, you also say that “customer requests up to the best details can be realized”. This certainly seems to imply that more carbon is possible if you want it.
Although we are based on the G83 M4 or the M4 competition, we are pretty sure that the Bovensiepen Zagato will behave as very different behind the steering wheel. The power supply was rotated up to 611 hp and 700 Nm (516 pound foot), and Bovensiepen says that the car is accelerated from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds. This is a third of a second more than the droptop M4. Why a coupé model is based on the convertible? Aesthetics on the one hand; It was the only way to make a car without visible B-pillars. Second, the company made it possible for the company to make a “double bubbles” roof that is apparently easier with a convertible as a coupé.
Outside sporty, luxurious inside
The Bovensiepen Zagato can attract some new carbon fiber parts on the outside. But inside it is still Lavalina leather, as far as the eye can see. Although the original M4 interior of the car is clearly very faithful, the endless Lavalina leather cover is not confused … well, most surfaces in the cabin. Bovensiepen says it takes 130 hours of craftsmanship, 390 leather cuts and more than 1,800 meters yarn to completely transform an M4 into a Zagato. Even better, you can choose from a library with 16 colors. This number grows by 45 if you are ready to combine Alcantara.
For us, the Carbon package on the Bovensiepen Zagato looks more of a “example” than a presentation of what is possible. And that’s okay; In addition, the car looked great without it. Since the pricing is unannounced, but supposedly well over € 300,000, you can make your car look exactly as you want it. As long as you have bank balance.
