BMW has been selling Electric M Performance Cars for years. In fact, the i4 M50 has been the best-selling car from M. Nevertheless, there has never been a model M-model. But that will change earlier than you might think. A new report from a reliable insider on the Bimmer post Forums claim that the opening brand should go into production in March 2027. This is less than a year after the regular i3 meets the assembly line.
The M variant is known internally as a “ZA0” and is said to have tailor-made 20-inch wheels as standard. According to the fake 20-inch wheels, BMW will report on additional costs. In addition, there is also a staggered setup with larger 21-inch alloys on the back in the pipeline. Customers also have to pay for additional carbon ceramico brakes.
In addition, M-specific headlights are planned for the electrical sports sedan. Elsewhere, the natural fiber composite materials announced at the beginning of this week are used for certain outer parts. These light components are based on flax, a blue blossom, and create fewer emissions compared to equivalent carbon fiber parts. According to reports, BMW is reported to natural fibers inside, especially in the front bucket seats. The electric M3 receives M -Sport seats in the standard wall.

Strangely enough, there is no easy roof, at least not that we know so far. The “ZA0” is intended to make a panorama sliding roof with a panel made of carbon or natural fiber composite materials. When the flax components were announced a few days ago, BMW said that such a roof would reduce CO2 emissions by 40% compared to a comparable carbon fiber panel.
There is still no word about power, but our sources say that the electrical M3 will have more muscles than reports at the beginning. Instead of staying below the 700 hp threshold, we now hear that the electrical punch ends somewhere within a range of 800 to 900 hp. The jury is still unable to use how many electric motors you will use, although the quad engine setup annoyed by BMW appears unlikely. It is probably reserved for electric M cars that the M3 will not be.
As with the standard i3, its M -counter is built in Munich. The historical work changes exclusively from 2027 to electric vehicles, so that the production of the 3 Series is relocated elsewhere. The “G50” is expected to be produced in Dingolfing instead and will take place in 2026.
