Electrical BMW X3 M production could begin in November 2027: Rumor

Enthusiasts, they were warned: electric M -cars come. In fact, they are already here, given the growing installation of M performance models without combustion engines. The i4 M50 has been the best -selling product with BMW MS for three years. Now the division is preparing to step into high equipment, with complete M-EVs arriving in 2027.

With the code name “ZA0”, the Electric M3 sedan is scheduled to enter into production in March 2027. Shortly afterwards, your crossover counter should join the line -up. After the usual BMW insider posting on the Bimmer Post The forums, the electrical X3 M, the code name “ZA5”, are scheduled to start production in November 2027. It is being built in the new DEBRECEN plant in Hungary together with the Standard IX3, which debuted last weekend. The limousine will be rolled off the line in Munich together with the upcoming i3 sedan, which will arrive next year.

Although BMW is preparing another petrol-powered M3, which is known internally as a “G84”, the crossover does not follow the same double path. The X3 m with an inline-six is supposedly not returned and the M50 leaves the top combustion version. Anyone who wants a full -fledged M must become electrical or search for a used “F97”. Of course, BMW M’s plans could change in the future.

So far, BMW M has only recognized the ZA0 M3, so that it is still early for concrete technical specifications of the Supped Up Crossover, but the new X3 m would obviously exceed the IX3 50 XDRIVE and its 463 hp. To close the gap, BMW will probably insert an M performance variant as M60 that covers more bases. Even this “M Lite” was able to transfer over 600 hp and sprint much faster at 62 km/h (100 km/h) than the 4.9 seconds from 50 XDrive. Of course, an adult X3 M provides an even greater impact and bladder acceleration. While the electric M3 could be rear wheel drive, the X3 m could preserve dual engine xDrive treatment from day one.

Additional electrical MS are almost certainly on the way before the decade. Do not be surprised if you see an i3 tour with M performance or Full M -Branding. While the X4 approaches the end of its run, an IX4 is reportedly in progress and should produce both M variants. And if the i4 is renewed as a coupé and convertible, these are also strong candidates for M derivatives. This does not mean that BMW M takes gas engines. The inline-SIX (S58) and V8 (S68) are revised to meet Euro 7 standards to ensure that large combustion engines will remain part of the installation for the foreseeable future.

At the moment, of course, these are only rumors, but if the 2027 date holds for the X3 m EV, we should sometimes see the first prototypes in 2026. Source: Bimmer Post
