A healthy company is always looking for new sources of income, and that’s exactly what BMW is doing with M Performance Parts. One could argue that the marketing jargon isn’t an entirely accurate description. Finally, these upgrades don’t actually increase performance, as most are purely cosmetic. This is the case with the new iX3, the first model in the New Class to receive an additional level of customization.
Don’t bother looking for M Performance Parts in the online configurator. Why? Because they aren’t there. Instead, you will need to contact a retailer to check which items are compatible with the “NA5”. It would be great if BMW included these add-ons alongside regular options and custom colors. Maybe one day. There is currently only a limited selection of items available for the iX3.
We photographed the electric SUV in Spain with several exterior add-on parts. At the front, glossy black add-on parts integrated into the lower air intakes build on the M Sport Pro package and give the vehicle a more uniform appearance. The 22-inch 1054 M wheels replace the usual two-tone design with a matte black finish with M Performance branding.

While even attentive readers might miss these subtle details, the rear spoiler definitely stands out. This is especially true for an iX3 that is painted in a lighter color. It is mounted on the standard roof edge spoiler and carries M Performance branding to clarify the impression. The changes to the rear diffuser are harder to see, but the design is a bit more aggressive.
The list is rounded off by an M Performance sticker on the windshield and a matt black foil strip along the profile. We assume there will be changes to the interior too, although BMW hasn’t confirmed anything yet. Typically that means carbon fiber and Alcantara accents, unique floor mats, nicer side skirts and other small details.
We’re excited to see what next year’s i3 sedan with M Performance Parts will look like once it’s officially unveiled. BMW has not yet announced a debut date, only confirming that production will begin in Munich in the second half of 2026. We expect the world premiere to take place in late spring or early summer.
