The world tour of the new iX3 continues in the Czech Republic, where BMW presented the electric SUV. We’ve been closely monitoring these regional launches and noticed a pattern. The luxury automaker appears to be favoring Ocean Wave Blue to showcase its highly anticipated electric vehicle. This new color debuts with “NA5” and will also be available in the frozen matte finish.
If you don’t like this shade, there are many alternatives: Alpine White, M Brooklyn Grey, Space Silver, Polarized Grey, Vegas Red, Sapphire Black, Frozen Space Silver and Eucalyptus Green. Individual colors will be added to the palette from mid-2026. The new BMW factory in Debrecen in Hungary was designed from day one to produce special paint finishes.
The iX3 offers multiple wheel options, including two 22-inch options. One of these, pictured here, has a two-tone appearance and is codenamed “1054 M.” At the Czech premiere, BMW naturally showed its best side and presented a high-quality vehicle with the M Sport Package Pro.

As with all iX3s shown so far, this is also the 50 xDrive model. Why? It is the only version available at launch. Series production begins at the end of this month, but BMW has already confirmed plans to expand the range. In the USA, cheaper 40 xDrive and 40 sDrive variants will come onto the market in 2027. A recent spy video of a camouflaged sporty prototype also suggests that an M Performance or full M version is in development.
While the iX3 leads the renaissance of the new class, fans of the sedan have nothing to worry about. A four-door i3 will arrive next year, followed a few months later by a similarly styled next-generation 3 Series, also known as the “G50.” For SUV fans, the new X5 “G65” will also debut next year, introducing an electric variant of the iX5 for the first time. Teaser images suggest it will look like a bigger brother to the iX3, which shouldn’t be a surprise.
We hope you like the design language introduced with the iX3, as it will be spread across around 40 models by the end of 2027. Every new BMW launched in the next two years will also feature the updated dashboard layout with iDrive X at its heart and Panoramic Vision windshield projection. For better or worse, Munich’s lineup will change fundamentally within a few years.
