The competition for Mini heats up. NIOS new sub-fire, Firefly, made his debut at Auto Shanghai 2025 and signaled another candidate in the overcrowded EV space for entry levels. Firefly does not stay in China, where BMW only builds the Cooper (J01) and Aceman (J05). This Charming EV will also start in 16 global markets, starting with the Netherlands and Norway this summer.
The designers have produced the delightful electrical assembly line on the BMW home grass in Munich, which contains three -time circular lights at the front and back. With 4003 millimeters (157.6 inches) Lang, 1885 mm (74.2 inches) and 1557 mm (61.3 inches), it is more positioned as an ACEMAN -Rival than as an alternative. Like Minis Crossover, the Firefly has a practical five -door layout. The 2615 mm wheel stand (2615 mm) even runs the Aceman.

Despite its compact size, the NIO Firefly is equipped with fairly large 18-inch wheels, which are wrapped in black-arched fenders. The car drives on a dedicated EV platform that gives it short overhangs and a 95-liter front case. In the back it offers 335 liters of charge room or 1,235 liters with the rear seats. NIO also cut out a hidden 29-liter subject under the right back seat for additional practicability.
We assume that the exterior channels of the Firefly of the Honda E, which are no longer placed, follows the Cabin of the Chinese EV game book 2025. Inside it has a minimalist layout that is anchored with a 13.2-inch touchscreen and a separate 6-inch digital driver display. Physical buttons are predictably minimal, but Nio maximizes the functionality with 27 storage compartments and 14 integrated speakers.

In contrast to Minis Cooper and Aceman Electric Duo from Mini, the NIO Firefly sends electricity to the rear wheels. A single rear engine delivers 141 hp, so it sprints in 8.2 seconds from 0 to 62 km/h (100 km/h). The top speed is mashed at 150 km/h (93 miles per hour). Driven with a 42.1 kWh battery, it offers a range of 420 kilometers in the China’s CLTC cycle, although WLTP numbers for Europe will probably be lower.
The drivers can quickly charge the battery with up to 100 kW and rise in just 29 minutes from 10% to 80%. In a hurry? The Firefly also supports the battery exchange, including compatibility with the fifth generation of the fifth generation stations next year.
The pricing begins in China at 119,800 RMB (16,440 US dollars), whereby the local deliveries should begin at the end of the month. In the Netherlands, NIO will calculate € 29,900 (34,000 US dollars), while Norwegian buyers pay at least 279,900 NOK ($ 27,000).
