See the new BMW M5 Touring Hit 192 miles per hour on the highway

If you have the fastest production car in the world, the new BMW M5 touring is not the one that is bought. It rounds off only 305 km/h, and that’s with the optional M driver package. Do you want to go faster? The Alpina B5 GT Touring hits an impressive 328 km/h.

However, the third generation’s M5 touring is not a slouch. Bavaria’s Ultimate Family Transporter was recently shot when he expanded his legs on the highway. No laws were broken because this film material was shot on an unrestricted section of the German motorway. It even hit the official top speed and reached 309 km/h.

The most versatile model from BMW only needed 3.6 seconds to reach 62 km/h/h and reach exactly the official time. From 0 to 124 km/h it took 11.3 seconds, just two tenths of a second from the claimed number. This is seriously quick for such a big and heavy car. Interestingly, the speedometer of the M5 is pretty precise in the sense that the difference between the specified speed and the actual telemetry data was minimal. Usually the digital instrument cluster of a car shows a slightly higher number.

As the only current 5 Series with a V8, the M5 Touring provides an aggressive soundtrack that wishes us even more for a new M550i. A non-hybrid M power model with a V8 setup at a cheaper price would be the sweet spot, but unfortunately it is not on the cards. We are convinced that it would easily overlap the model m-model and that it would not be far behind, if at all.

His absence is probably based on the tightening of the emission regulations. It would be great to see an M550i in markets with more indulgent rules. However, such a limited offer would be expensive and probably not worth the effort. BMW now has larger priorities, especially with the new class -era just around the corner. Spy shots have already shown that part of the styling that comes to the EVS will rub on the revised M5 in a few years.
