Like others recently specific models from China, the extended 5 Series Limousine has its own code name G68. The extended rear doors make it easy to recognize a more extensive car than the standard G60. The stately wheelbase of 3105 mm (122.2 inches) is still longer than that of the previous generation, standard Rheelbase 7 series (G11).
Without the flagship of the 7 series, it is the only model in the extensive line-up of BMW that offers the 31.3-inch theater screen. Another CHINA-exclusive feature can be found outside, where an illuminated “5” appears in the Hofmeister Knick. It lights up on gas -powered models white and pulsates blue on the i5 as it is charged.
Overall, the 5 series does not differ dramatically from its global counterpart in Dadong. Of course, thanks to the longer wheelbase there is more hind leg freedom. The G68 is also delivered with the model logo that is shaped in the headrests and has two-colored cushions with unique China-specific quilts.
BMW has sold more than two million units of 5 Series in China since the beginning of local production in 2003. It sells the latest generation in several versions, including 525li and 530li. The former is only rear wheel drive, while the latter is available with or without XDrive. On the EV page there is only the RWD-RWD-I5 Edrive35L and i5 Edrive40L and the only i5 XDRIVE50L from AWD.
In the meantime, the hotter i5 M60 and the M5 are also sold in China, but only in the standard wheel shape, since they come from BMWS Dingolfing plant in Germany. None of the cars are available because long -term models in China are not so large in China in which SUVs, limousines and minivans are.
