United Airlines and BMW from North America have tacitly completed one of the most interesting collaborations in travel law this year. In the summer, the two companies completed more than 14,000 BMW asphalt transfers for Milkenlus -Premier members and gave selected travelers a private electrical journey between the connecting flights. The service is available at six major airports in United Hub – Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, DC – and it is completely free for those who qualify. We treated this a few months ago, but now it was officially.
A smooth connection

That’s how it works. When a MileagePlus Premier member ends up with a close connection, an United Premier Services agent meets her directly on the arrival gate. From there, the passenger via the asphalt becomes a purely electrical i7 XDRIVE60 sedan or IX M70 SUV to get a direct journey to your next goal. It is a small advantage, but one that makes a big difference when the minutes count. In the press release, it is not currently mentioned that this service was historically offered to its top customer, part of the global service group of frequent flyers.
United has already offered Tarmac Transfers and previously used Jaguar I-Pace Crossovers for its high-level Global Services members. At the beginning of this year, BMW Jaguar replied as an official automotive partner, expanded the program and updated the fleet with its latest electrical models. The United fleet comprises seven i7 limousines and three IX Suvs. Both are fully electrical and built for calm comfort.
BMWS that do the airport obligation

Richard Nunn, CEO of MileagePlus, said the partnership has already proven to be valuable. “This summer our floor transfer program with BMW from North America has shown how seamless premium trips for our MileagePlus members create a real value -help thousands to combine with less stress and more comfort.”
Shaun Bugbee, BMW of the North American Executive Vice President of Operations, describes it as a natural fit. “Cooperation with United offers the opportunity to show how real luxury in modern era feels. By offering sophisticated customers the opportunity to experience the ultimate electrical driving machine from the rear seat like a passenger in a first -class cabin, we can increase the travel experience and at the same time intensify the commitment of BMW for the design of the future of premium mobility.”
By using BMW electrical fleet for this asphalt transfers, the program has an environmental edge. Any connection made in an i7 or IX replaces a traditional shuttle with high absorption in a combustion vehicle. It is a small piece of the larger sustainability puzzle, but in addition to airlines, long-term decarbonization goals fits from the investment in sustainable aviation fuel up to the electrification of more basic operation.
