The new M2 CS made a sensation at Concorso d’Elanza Villa d’Este at the weekend. BMW went the extra mile and brought two cars to the bank of the Como Lake. The Hardcore G87 was disguised in M Brooklyn Gray and individual velvet blue. But what about the other colors? Sapphire Black and M Portimao Blue are now available in the German configurator.
Similar to M Brooklyn Gray, these standard colors are not cost -effective options for the M2 CS. In fact, the sports coupé in the rear wheel drive is fully loaded. Well, almost. BMW calculates an additional € 2,500 for the “Ultra -Track” tires in Germany, although the embroidery is rubber in the USA without any additional costs. In addition to the basic price of 115,000 euros in its domestic market, competitive sport can be further improved with € 8,500 carbon ceramic brakes. Ouch.
Although the M2 CS sits in the food chain at the top, it is not equipped with active cruise control by default. This function adds € 600 to the final invoice, while a heated steering wheel costs another € 250. BMW also charges € 850 for the driving assistant and almost € 250 for all-weather floor mats, including one for the trunk. Unfortunately, a manual is not on the list of options. The car is only sold with the eight-speed automatic, and M boss Frank van Meel told us why.
If you find the bikes too striking, there is more bad news. The M2 CS is only supplied with the matt gold bronze in a staggered configuration. The 827 -m alloys measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches, wrapped in 275/35 ZR19 or 285/30 ZR20 tires. Of course, the Aftermarket scene will probably quickly tackle the limited radical options. Nevertheless, the stick wheels form a striking contrast against the body, especially in Sapphire Black and M Portimao Blue.
The new M2 CS will be a less common sight. BMW has not announced any production figures and explains that it is installed in “limited numbers”. His F87-based predecessor was produced as a refreshment in 2,200 units. We believe that this second generation model could be even more exclusive, with only 2,000 examples or possibly less planned.
