The BMW 5 series -facelift comes with a passenger screen

On the other hand, if you are dominating the dashboard of a car of screens, we fear that the worst will come. While archrival Mercedes and Audi have taken over the front passenger screens, BMW has not yet taken this route. However, it is a question of when, not if. Our sources near Munich have learned that the new iDrive X is being developed taking into account an additional display.

Although the tenth generation of BMW’s tenth generation does not take a screen for the tenth generation of the tenth generation to the passenger, it will not be long before you are inserted in an existing car. We believe that the 5 -series Facelift will receive this option when it starts in less than two years. The G60 will undergo life cycle impulse, with production begins in March 2027. As a result, a debut could take place at the beginning of this year or even in the late 2026.

Dance shots of the standard -5er -lci and the M5 siblings have already appeared. However, we will wait long before the official premiere. Although Car -Paparazzi has not yet managed to take a look, we heard through the wine vine that the passenger display is not integrated into the dashboard like that of Mercedes and Audi. Instead, it is a “floating” screen, similar to the center display planned for iDrive X.

We hear that the passenger screen is relatively low, especially in comparison to the main outfit infotainment. BMW has already explained that the vision NEE class X contained a massive touchscreen of 17.9 inches. Some Mercedes models offer passengers an additional display of 12.3 inches, while Audi offers a slightly smaller 10.9-inch setup.

It remains unclear whether the 5 Series LCI will be the first to preserve this function. If not, Logic suggests that the next generation X5 will debut passenger indicators. The “G65” is scheduled to enter into production in August 2026, which would be removed from our great unveiling for about a year.

It is unlikely that BMW will include the passenger screen as standard equipment. We will see this as a positive thing. We also believe that due to the narrower dashboards that limit the available space, it will not appear in compact cars. A well-founded assumption indicates that the next generation 3 and the X3 facelift will be the smallest models that offer this option.

Is a passenger display really necessary? Absolutely not. Nevertheless, the umbrella dashboards are trendy, especially in China, the largest individual market of BMW.
