BMW kills two birds with a stone by celebrating 50 years of the 3 and art cars in a single exhibition. From June 17th, June 17th, visitors to the BMW Museum in Munich will have the special opportunity to see all M3 -Kunstautos. It is the 13th station on the world tour, which has already spanned five continents and will continue to visit other regions in the coming months.

While BMW created 20 official art cars, only three are based on the 3 Series. All of these “Rolling sculptures” were M3S, starting with group A Race Jagamara Nelson. The E30, which was designed by the Australian artist and debuted in 1989 as a seventh artisto.

The M3 Group A from Ken Done followed later in the same year and was just as happy. The eighth official BMW Art Car was also supported by Australian influences, but with a more modern turn. One could argue that it is even happier when the Australian artist inspired by nature, from the sun and the beaches to parrots and fishing.

Fast lead until 1992 when Sandro Chia worked on the M3 GTR from the E36 era. In fact, it was the Italian artist who turned to BMW to ask the opportunity to create a art. The result is a vehicle that stares from every perspective.

In addition to the trio of M3S, BMW museum visitors can also see another art store. The #10 entry in the long-term series is an E32 series from 1990 in 730i figure, which was created by the Spanish artist César Manrique. It is part of the constant collection of the museum and remains the only 7er to receive the Art Car treatment.
