BMW will perform a number of model updates in Europe this summer, one of which will influence the X3. The “G45” has a new option for an M -door threshold for cars, which were ordered with the M Sport package or the M Sport package Pro. In addition, the Range Toping X3 M50 adds this element of its option list. According to a new report, however, there is a more extensive change on the way.
Our German colleagues at Bimmer today Do you have a good authority that BMW will upgrade the inner quality. It seems that the luxury car manufacturer tries to tackle some of the reviews on the materials used in the new X3 compared to the previous “G01” generation. Some of the interior panels and cladding are improved on vehicles that were later built this summer.
Similar to the 5 Series, which has received the soft, shiny black window control, the X3 will also remove the cheap, plastic switches. Good exemption. However, glossy surfaces are typically fingerprint magnets, especially in frequently used areas such as window switches. Ideally, a car that deserves the badge of a luxury brand looks like aluminum switches, but I assume that the ship is sailed at the age of cutting.

Nevertheless, it is an effort that BMW is willing to take into account in particular how early this update arrives in the life cycle of the product. Finally, deliveries only started in the last quarter of last year and only in Europe and the United States. Other regions had to wait until the beginning of 2025. It is unusual that a car company, luxury or not, revises the interior of a model before its update with a medium cycle.
BMW seems to take a shy step in the right direction. We hope that the X3 facelift brings itself more considerable upgrades. We hear that the LCI will debut with vehicles that will be produced from December 2028. The LCI model is therefore about three and a half years away.
Until then, BMW will pass some of its models into Idrive X. The X3, the best -selling model of the brand worldwide, will take over the revised dashboard with a central display. The large touchscreen, which may measure 17.9 inches, is expected to arrive next to the panorama. We will see the next generation tech debut in September on IX3 2026.
