The Morgan Supersport is a BMW Retro Roadster

We add another car to the list of models with a BMW engine, but not the famous round. Admittedly, the new Morgan Supersport replaces the Plus Six, which also had the ubiquitous B58 engine. In the new application, the 3.0-liter six-cylinder mill produces Turbo 335 PS and 369 LB-FT (500 Nm) as in the Toyota Supra. The Ineos Grenadier also uses the B58B30C engine. But I wander off.

The design remains mostly retro, although there are more than a few modern details that can keep up over time. The British rear wheel drive machine is offered with a standard fabric roof. However, buyers can spend additional top for a hard top. Since the hard panels of the soft and low -carbon composite parts are interchangeable, you can have and eat your cake. Owners can effectively transform the super sport from a convertible into a coupé. Pretty neat, right?

We can only dream of a BMW that only weighs 1,170 kilograms like super sport. The Z4 M40i is approximately 400 kg (almost 900 lbs) thick. In view of the decent performance, the open-topner nerve skill and the layout in the rear wheel drive, the new Morgan must be a cry for driving. It is only a shame that there is no trading gear. Instead, an eight-speed automatic transmission with A trusted Gear lever is installed.

The super sport is properly fast and takes 3.9 seconds to reach 62 km/h/h from a standstill. Flach, it can reach 267 km/h. But just like the other Morgans, the car is not necessarily about a full speed. It is about having fun with the wheel, even at legal speeds, thanks to a nimble and agile chassis.

The new aluminum platform is 10% stiffer or even 20% with the carbon roof. In addition, the engineers have increased the steering speed by 13%, while the rigidity of certain suspension points has almost doubled. Morgan sells an optional differential and adjustable nitron dampers with limited panties for those who are willing to develop. There are also 19-inch wheels that are actually a little lighter than the smaller 18-inch set that you get as standard.

Morgan wants 85,000 pounds for a super sport in front of options at home in Great Britain. BMW £ 58.180 calculates as a reference for a standard Z4 M40i in Great Britain.
