It wasn’t long ago when M parts of performance were limited to a handful of objects for some models. Today the business in Munich has to be booming because BMW has significantly expanded its portfolio. From the low 1 series to high-end models such as the M5, there are now many extras that you cannot find in the regular configurator.
The color is hardly dried on the new IX3, and BMW Welt already shows the “NA5” equipped with M parts. Fresh pictures show the electric crossover, which is covered with the M Sportpacket Pro in Space Silver. This latest EV from Bavaria runs with an Aerodynamic wheel set of 21 inches (1051 m) with a two-tone finish.
It’s all well and good, but what about the M -Performance parts? It is difficult to miss the sticker over the top of the windshield and reminds of the tuner style from the 1990s. Actually, some still do it today. A more extensive change can be felt under the front air curtains, where new elements give the IX3 a stronger look and at the same time improve aerodynamics.

The diffuser is a bit more pronounced on the back. However, it is difficult to recognize the changes against all the shiny black. BMW may promise a “new era” with the new class that triggered chrome for LEDs, but it is clearly not ready to give up shiny plastic. A typical example: The add-on-roof spoiler, which is completed in glossy black and wearing M Performance branding to ensure that viewers know that this is not a standard II. Filling out the look is a matt black sticker that runs along the profile and is crowned with an M -Performance logo to drive the point home.
The photographer could not capture the cabin, but based on other models, M parts of performance should be almost safe. Expect carbon fiber cladding, alcantara and leather surfaces, unique floor mats and other small details. We are waiting for BMW to officially announce the entire range of articles developed for the second generation IX3.
So far there has been no official mention of M -Performance parts. On the other hand, the car has just debuted and deliveries will only start next spring. This makes BMW enough time to detail this additional level of adjustment that buyers should offer. Of course at a price.
