BMW is about to bring the new class back. However, it is not only limited to a number of limousines and coupés. Instead, it will be a complete revision of its line -up with a focus on electric vehicles. It is advertised as the company’s largest individual investment so far. And while EVS will start the way, the iDrive X and the fresh design are also reduced into combustion cars.
Oliver Zipse, CEO of the company, which was approved in an interview with the German publication Mirror That it is actually unthinkable in the proven logic of this industry to literally everyone. Nevertheless, BMW is relentless that it made the right decision: “But it seemed even risky not to do anything.”
The automotive room is located at a turning point, and BMW’s top measuring projects “There will be a selection process in our industry.” Since EV sales do not rose quickly enough to meet the expectations that most automobile manufacturers had, the dependence on fuel strengths does not disappear so quickly.
Although it mainly affects new class electric vehicles, BMW does not put all eggs in a basket. It recently repeated its long-term commitment to inline-six and V8 drive lines. Four cylinders are also here to stay, and some can even land under the bonnet of a Mercedes.

While zipse is of the opinion that some car manufacturers affect a difficult future, BMW is in a strong position by dealing with a wide range of audience. The new IX3, the next week, will start the electrical revolution, which will continue in 2026 with the i3 sedan and the IX5. Uncalstated EVs include an IX7 in the following year and possibly an IX6 in 2028. There could also be an i3 tour for car enthusiasts, together with an IX4 and a large “robust” SUV.
For the time being, the IX1 remains BMWS entry-EV. According to reports, the models I1 and/or I2 could get closer at the end of the decade. For the aim of the group, these cars will be of crucial importance that EVS will make up 50% of total sales by 2030. Last year, electric cars from BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce only accounted for 17.4% of the programs.
In addition to the next generation X5, a new 3 series for publication of 2026 is planned on the combustion side. BMW also plans to introduce another X7 with conventional drive strands and further update its current models with petrol and diesel companies.
