Let’s start with what this car was. The basic vehicle is a BMW 328i XDRIVE TOURING 2015 (F31), which is originally completed in a mineral gray metallic and is equipped with the M sports package. Already in 2016 it was damaged at the front and back – an unfortunate turn that ultimately gave him a second life. In 2024, the current seller took it and began one of the most thorough conversions that we have seen for years.

The donor? A 2017 F80 BMW M3 competition package that is due to front-end damage but is mechanically intact. The entire drive element, the chassis and the interior were converted into the Touring cover with documentation and photos to prove every step. This means that this car is now the 3.0-liter inline-six of M3 3.0-liter twin-turbo load-Six and writes out 444 hp and 406 LB-FT torque.

But it is not only screwed – it is fully integrated.

Real rear wheel drive, manual transmission and M3-DNA

Originally all -wheel drive, this 328i was subjected to larger operation to absorb the rear wheel drive. The gear tunnel was modified in such a way that it adapted the GEPRAGE SECHLEST manual from the M3, and the rear under-ceremony differential and the reinforced housing closure were also exchanged.

M3 front and rear subframes, brakes, steering stands and competitive spec spring components make the car feel and drive like a real M car. In order to choose the attitude and to handle it even further, KW height springs were installed and the only aftermarket modification in the entire build.

The car now drives on the legendary 20-inch BMW wheels in the BMW style, freshly reworked and wrapped in Michelin-Pilot-Sportstripen-265/30 in front and 295/30 in the rear.

In order to meet the wider route of the M3, the building manufacturer stole the front fenders of steel from the M3 onto the F31 body and the equipped OEM -M3 shock bar covers, side skirts, grill and shadow lines. The car was then reserved in Carmine Red, a fat BMW -specific color, typically for M cars. Even the adaptive LED headlights of the ICON -LED from the M3 were installed for additional authenticity.

A proper interior – not just a parts -Mashup

Inside, the transformation continues with the complete leather fitting board of the M3, the carbon fiber cladding and the M-specific digital cluster and the steering wheel. The front M sports seats are heated, strengthened and beautifully padded – just like in the M3 – and the heated rear bench still folds flat and keeps the signatures of the car. There is also a panorama sliding roof, Harman Kardon Surround Sound, Comfort access, speed control and iDrive with navigation. Everything was moved from the donor car, not only exchanged.

Completely legal in California – and that says something

Maybe the most impressive part? This build is not just a track toy or a garage queen. It was protected and certified by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, which means that it corresponds to strict emissions and security standards in California. It even has the approval of Carb, so it is 100% street legal in one of the state’s toughest regulatory states.

Oxygen sensors were replaced in May 2025 and the car has only covered 1,000 miles since the conversion. The digital mileage is now 63,000 miles, including the donor’s mileage in front of the exchange. All important systems – electronics, cabling, drive train and interior – were transplanted during the build and documented during the entire process.
