Charged EVs | Bosch begins manufacturing of recent electrical drive unit for business autos


Bosch is starting to supply a brand new electrical drive unit designed for gentle business autos, together with vans and medium-size vans.

The drive unit consists of a permanent-magnet synchronous motor and an built-in inverter. The unit weighs about 80 kilograms, and has a most energy of 129 kW, steady energy of 100 kW and a peak torque of 430 Nm. Bosch says the inverter has an effectivity degree of 97%.

The brand new unit is being produced at Bosch’s plant in Hildesheim, Germany. The corporate says the unit shall be put in in an 8.5-ton Daimler truck.

“In comparison with its predecessors, the brand new unit supplies even greater energy and torque density, and is even lighter and extra compact,” says Bosch Board Member Dr. Markus Heyn.
