Charged EVs | Factorial Power to open solid-state EV cell growth and manufacturing facility

Factorial Power, a Massachusetts-based solid-state battery developer, is constructing a solid-state cell growth and manufacturing facility in Methuen, Massachusetts.

“The prevailing 67,000-square-foot constructing on the positioning will endure in depth buildout to accommodate Factorial’s pilot manufacturing facility, which is able to manufacture automotive-sized solid-state batteries at pre-production pace and quantity,” says the corporate. Factorial plans to take a position $45 million within the facility, and expects it to begin operations in early 2023.

Factorial says it’s “at present working with Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis to develop safer and higher-performance solid-state EV battery cells for future passenger and industrial autos.”

“We plan to proceed constructing solid-state EV battery analysis and growth amenities in New England and set up the area as a hub for electrical mobility know-how,” says Factorial CEO Siyu Huang.
