Electrical powertrain firm Hitachi Astemo has acquired e-axle orders for mid- and large-sized EVs from Honda. (Hitachi Automotive Techniques, Keihin, Showa and Nissin Kogyo all merged to kind Hitachi Astemo in 2021.)
Hitachi Astemo’s e-axle consists of its SiC inverter, which has a heat-dissipating insulation mounting system, its square-wire and low-loss motor, and a gearbox manufactured by one other firm.
“By combining the differentiated applied sciences with cutting-edge expertise from a gearbox producer, Hitachi Astemo will present cost-competitive e-axles to automakers, with industry-leading effectivity, low vibration, low noise and modular design,” says Hitachi Astemo.
The corporate plans to broaden gross sales of its e-axles and to produce motors and inverters to carmakers and gearbox producers for e-axle meeting.
Hitachi Astemo plans to extend its electrification enterprise by investing 300 billion yen (about $2.07 billion) between now and monetary yr 2025.
