The Washington Metropolitan Space Transit Authority (aka Metro) has ordered 95 Xcelsior forty-foot heavy-duty transit buses from New Flyer. Metro’s new buses will change end-of-life automobiles. The acquisition was supported by Federal Transit Administration funds.

Metro operates one of many largest bus networks within the US, offering roughly 79 million annual journeys on 136 bus traces.

“Since 1995, NFI has delivered over 2,040 buses to Metro, and the company continues to depend on NFI’s confirmed transit expertise to maintain Washington transferring,” mentioned Chris Stoddart, President, North American Bus and Coach, NFI. “New Flyer’s Xcelsior bus options efficient emission controls that scale back greenhouse fuel emissions and the price of bus operation.”
