ExxonMobil makes three new discoveries offshore Guyana; will increase Stabroek useful resource estimate to almost 11B barrels

ExxonMobil has made three new discoveries offshore Guyana and elevated its estimate of the recoverable useful resource for the Stabroek Block to almost 11 billion oil-equivalent barrels. (Earlier publish.)

The three discoveries are southeast of the Liza and Payara developments and convey to 5 the discoveries made by ExxonMobil in Guyana in 2022.

  • The Barreleye-1 nicely encountered roughly 230 ft (70 meters) of hydrocarbon-bearing sandstone and was drilled in 3,840 ft (1,170 meters) of water.
