Revel, NineDot Vitality and Fermata Vitality introduced that the primary Car to Grid (V2G) program linked to NYC’s grid is now reside at Revel’s Crimson Hook, Brooklyn warehouse. Revel, a Brooklyn-based electrical mobility and infrastructure firm, partnered with V2G and Car-to-All the pieces (V2X) supplier Fermata Vitality and clear vitality developer NineDot Vitality to deploy a bidirectional charging system that may each cost electrical automobiles (EVs) and discharge these EVs to ship vitality saved of their batteries again to Con Edison’s grid in NYC.
Not like standard EV chargers, Fermata Vitality’s V2X bidirectional charging system can each cost EVs and safely ship a few of that battery-stored energy again to the grid, supporting grid resilience.
The V2G system makes use of three Fermata Vitality bidirectional chargers working on a cloud-based platform. Based mostly on the interconnection settlement with Con Edison, the chargers ship vitality saved in automobile batteries again to the grid from 2:00 – 6:00 PM ET, throughout native vitality demand peaks. The three bidirectional chargers can export roughly 45kW again to the grid.
