Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK), the general public transport operator for Cologne, Germany, has ordered as much as 100 hydrogen-powered gasoline cell hybrid buses within the first part of a procurement. This order was enabled by the lately introduced funding from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV). RVK already has the most important fleet of hydrogen Gas Cell EV buses in Europe, with 52 items of various sorts.
The results of a Europe-wide tender for hydrogen-powered buses, RVK ordered as much as 40 buses (20 assured and 20 elective) from Solaris Bus & Coach S.A. and as much as 60 (20 assured and 40 elective) buses from WrightBus.
