Volkswagen is shortly before uncovering a second generation T-Roc, whereby the latest prototype is to be spied on that hardly wears a camouflage device.
The current T-Roc is a compact crossover that is closely related to the golf rod. There was its debut in 2017 and has produced a high-performance T-Roc R variant and an open top-top-T-Roc-Cabriolet since then. However, the latter is not expected to receive a repetition with the new generation.
The new T-Roc was to debut later this year. If you consider that VW has excluded to sell the current T-Roc in the USA, the new generation will probably also skip this market. Instead, the car manufacturer offers the larger TAOS as an entry-level crossover.
The new T-Roc looks like it is following an evolutionary design path. However, there are new details, such as B. a Clamshell hood and a larger lower intake with a new network pattern. It is difficult to judge, but there seem to be fewer body on the flanks of the vehicle. One last key change is the less steep rear windshield, which leads to a Fastback design.

The vehicle drives on the latest version of the MQB platform of the Volkswagen Group, which the car manufacturer uses for volume brands. In the USA is the platform in the Golf GTI and Golf R and in the associated Audi A3 area. It will also underpin a newly designed Tiguan, which is later due in the United States this year.
Front drive is standard, but all -wheel drive will be available. This time only electrified applications are offered.
The current T-Roc is a close relative of the Audi Q2 Crossover. However, do not look for a redesigned Q2. In an interview in 2022, the former Audi boss Markus Duesmann stated that the Q2 and the smaller A1 shawl will expire according to their respective current generations.
Electromobility fans can look forward to an electric T-Roc. It is developed together with an electrical golf closure of the next generation. In February, VW confirmed that the two vehicles on the SSP EV platform of the VW Group of the next generation are based on standardizing things such as software and battery cells for most of the car manufacturer.
