AC Cobra GT, which is to be built at the former Saab location

  • AC Cars has teamed up with T-Engineering for the production of its Cobra GT
  • T-Engineering was founded by ex-Saab engineers and is based on the former Saab plant in Sweden
  • AC also builds the Cobra GT in Great Britain

AC Cars has turned to an unlikely partner to build its modern attitude to the legendary Cobra sports car.

The British company announced this on Wednesday Sweden’s T-Engineering will help both the Cobra GT Roadster and the recently unveiled Cobra GT coupé.

The cars are currently being built in Great Britain facilities and are based on technical services from Germany. However, the AC has caused a strong demand to look for additional capacities from T-Engineering.

T-Engineering is a Swedish company that was founded by former Saab engineers to Saab’s bankruptcy in the early 2010s, with financial support from Chinese car manufacturer Dongfeng. In addition to the production capacities, T-Engineering also has the former Saab test track in the former Saab plant in Trollhättan, Sweden. The company specializes in control systems and electrification and makes it a valuable engineering partner for potential future developments at AC.
