Lewis Hamilton made his start with Ferrari a little in Formula 1 this season: a famous scene with a classic Ferrari from the 1980s with cult classic “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.

For readers who are not familiar with the film, the skilled school of the title university (played by Matthew Broderick) is about the skipping school. At some point Bueller and his friend Cameron Frye (played by Alan Ruck) borrow a valuable Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder from Fryes Father.

In one scene, leave it in a garage and pay a companion of five total bones to take care of it. Then the companion immediately takes the car for a joyride.

In Hamilton’s remake of the scene that you can see on his YouTube channel, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion plays the role of the companion. Hamilton also got a friend, Hollywood actor Edward Norton, who was sometimes wrong in his previous years for jerk to join in and played the role of the companion’s colleague who took a joyride.

Three examples of the Ferrari were used to film the original film, all replicas. One of the three was sacrificed for the scene in which the car takes a fall out of the fall from the Garage of the Frye Residence. The other replicas landed in private hands, and Hamilton said that he had tracked down one of the cars for the Remade scene.

“This should pay homage to the legendary film and celebrate my first season with Ferrari,” he said. “Had to get the exact car – it is a dream car since it saw the film.”

He will complete his first race with the Prancing Horse this weekend in the Australian Grand Prix, the season start of the 2025 F1 season.
